Buyer Reviews

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Neutral Shoe
This was my first ASICS shoe and I am pleased with it overall. I have run in Mizuno(Waverider 11) and Addidas(supernova Cushions, 5,6,7). This is one generation back, nimbus 9. But it is good value for the money. So far I have ~ 200 Miles in my first pair and 50 in the 2nd. Fits well. I could breakin very easily within 15-25 miles. The shoe laces are a bit short. Overall not bad, lets see how it fares in my 2nd marathon in 4 weeks

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Running Shoe But Needs Some Work
I've been running in Asics for awhile and am generally very happy with their shoes. When I stepped up to the Nimbus 9, I expected a shoe that was ready to run out of the box. After a couple of weeks, I ran a half marathon and noticed their new design was a bit tight on the sides which actually damaged my outside toe nails. This was not something I noticed during my daily runs (which average about 5-8 miles a day). Unlike some other reviewers, I found the external (and inside the arch) fabric to begin to wear out substantially within the first 10 months. Although this shoe seemed abit more problematic than my previous Asics, I will most like continue to purchase them due to the fact that they keep my knees and back "pain free".

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Comfortable, sturdy, long-lasting shoes... typical ASICS
*** PROS ***
Comfortable ankle wrap-around design.
Top-quality, long-lasting outsole.
Handle road impact consistenly even after 8-10 miles straight.
Forefoot cushioning is excellent.

*** CONS ***
A tad too flashy for some... the chrome accents are a tiny bit too much.
The inner arch is somewhat high. I solved this by trimming the insole with a couple of scissors.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very comfortable and stable
This is my first new pair of running shoes in a while. Took me a long time to choose this model. I tend to over pronate and this is one of the few models of shoes that I find very comfortable and stable. The toe box is also a bit wider than other Asics if you don't like that cramped toe feeling. Cushioning is excellent. My knee and back usually hurts after a long run with my old shoes, this pair alleviated much of the discomfort. Its impossible to make a recommendation on running shoes because the fit is so personal. But this model is definitely worth a test run.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
