Amazon.com Item Description:
Offering a stylish alternative to traditional day packs, the Columbia Delta messenger bag slings over your shoulder or your chest, yet still holds everything you need for a day on the town. The Delta boasts a large main compartment that stores important papers, books, a change of clothes, or even a laptop when necessary. At the same time, you can stuff smaller items in the bag's organizer panel, making them easy to find in a pinch. Add in quick-release surface-mount buckles that keep the main compartment securely closed and a webbing tab that holds a bicycle strobe light and you have the perfect bag for both cross-town bike rides and downtown strolls.

As with the best messenger bags, the Delta is both comfortable and durable, with an adjustable, padded shoulder strap and an abrasion-resistant 600D polyester exterior with a full military-quality nylon lining. In addition, Columbia taped and double stitched the main seams, then added bartacks to the stress points, ensuring that the Delta won't fall apart after a few years of use. Other details include premium mountaineering-grade hardware, a reinforced loop handle along the top, and 998 total cubic inches of storage space.

The Delta measures 15.5 by 11 by 5.5 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

About Columbia Sportswear
Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of ski-wear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.

Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that, it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60-year-old Gert began her role as 'Mother Boyle' in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.

The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

Buyer Reviews
Average Buyer Rating: out of 5 stars

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Durable,, but annoying
I got this bag for school..it's okay, but I'm not thrilled with it. It is very durable, spacious and fairly pretty, but there are some things that annoy me about it: It doesn't have many pockets and the side pockets it has are small and closed only by a small piece of Velcro. As a result, i can fit many office supplies in and when I put the bag flat with the top flap open, all my pencils and things fall out. Also the white starts to look dirty fairly quickly.I have been using it for a month now and nothing has ripped, but as I said before its really been annoying me.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Decent Messenger Bag
I happen to like this bag even though it's not what I was hoping for.

I would like it better if it were more of a cloth type messenger, but the material is tough enough to carry some tools and the occasional knife or two.

I have carried a laptop with it and it holds it quite nicely. There's not a lot of 'compartmenting' with the bag, but it does quite nicely for the quick throw over your shoulder and take it with you thing. I use it on a daily basis to carry some of my essentials and have even used it as a 'diaper bag' when taking my 18 month old out to the mall or the park.

Excellent bag for the price.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Nice deal
This bag was posted on SlickDeals website for eleven dollars and ninty-nine cents. For that price i am very happy with my purchase.

The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is becasue there are no zippered pockets only velcro. I like zippered pockets to keep the dust out as much as possible.

There is also not enough padding to hold a laptop securly, but then again I didn't purchase it for that reason.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Nice Bag
I bought this bag about three weeks ago. I love that it is durable and has the padded shoulder. I am a commuting college student and wanted this bag specifically for my heavy books. The strap is sewn on tight and is thick. The only little thing I didn't like is the clip design. I'm used to the ones that hang off the bag but as you can see from the pic these clips are sewn flat on the flap of the bag. I can see these clips being awkward for someone to undo if they had big fingers or arthritis. I've gotten use to it but if you have sensitive fingers this might be a pain for some. Over all this bag was worth the money.

Intel's Core 2 Duo E6700 offers the best price-to-performance ratio we've seen in a desktop chip. For half the cost of AMD's top-of-the-line chip, you get identical if not superior performance and better power efficiency. AMD surprised us last year with its completely dominant dual-core chips, but Intel regains the crown with Core 2 Duo.
